Tapawera Community Plan

Central to the whole Community-Led Development Programme approach is each community having a community plan. Tapawera Connect's Community-Led Development Team has devoted much of its energy into facilitating the process for Tapawera and we now have our own community plan.

Many great ideas were put forward by community members over the past couple of years, and some a lot longer ago than that!  We captured all of these and engaged someone skilled at bringing together community plans.  Together with the plan consultant we looked at these ideas and identified some voices that hadn’t been heard. 

The plan must reflect the whole community’s aspirations.  So, we undertook a round of targeted consultation after which a draft plan was drawn up and shared with the community for feedback. This feedback highlighted which ideas the community sees as the most important for our future. Those ideas were then fleshed out with goals and actions to achieve them, resulting in our finished plan.
