The Community Vision: A Heart for Tapawera

The Tapawera community is coming together to create a new, purpose-built Tapawera Community Hub. A central, welcoming place where people can connect, access essential services, and feel supported.

Designed to serve Tapawera village and the surrounding valleys, the Hub will be a shared and open space for community activity, service delivery, information, and connection. It will strengthen local wellbeing, provide a space for emergency resilience, reduce isolation, and help ensure rural residents can access the support they need, close to home.

The Hub is about investing in a stronger, more resilient, and connected future for Tapawera.

The Funding Challenge: We’re Nearly There!

The total estimated cost for the new Tapawera Community Hub is $2.7 million. We have already secured significant funding, but we need your help to close the gap!

Funding Source Amount Secured
Tasman District Council (TDC) Contribution $1.8 million (Confirmed)
Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) Grant $510,000 (Secured)
Community Fundraising Goal $490,000
Total Project Cost $2.8 Million

Our goal is to raise the final $390,000 required from the community to make this dream a reality.
