Scope: 2 Community meetings attended by around 40 individuals, a meeting with 10 youth at the school, 18 face to face meetings with key stakeholders and community facility owners

Conclusion: This report has found that there is sufficient need for a fit-for-purpose community centre in Tapawera.

Scope: 130 respondents (7% of the Golden Downs Statistical Area) 

Conclusion: Of those 130 respondents, 114  (88%) supported the hub as a priority

Page 4: 2020 Tapawera Connect Community Survey

Scope: 80 respondents (4% of the Golden Downs Statistical Area) & discussions with participants at the following 5 Summer Workshops (between 5-20 participants at each workshop).

Conclusion: 65 respondents thought Tapawera needed a new hub, 8 said no, and 5 didn’t know.

‘Conclusion

This report has found that: 

1. There is sufficient need for a fit-for-purpose community centre in Tapawera that allows for the  integration of current community activity and services and creates a connection space for the  community.’

2024 Community Plan Consultation:

114 of 130 respondents supported the Community Hub (88%), with ‘Advocating for increased health services including family and mental health’ having the highest ‘high priority’ rating overall.

2020 Tapawera Connect Community Survey:

65 out of 80 respondents replied ‘Yes’ when asked if they thought Tapawera would benefit from a Community Hub.
